In 1957 the Swiss entrepreneur Walter Reist developed his first newspaper conveyor and founded Ferag AG, a small family business that quickly became widely known as a supplier to the newspaper industry.

Because of its explosive growth, Susanne Rau-Reist, daughter of Walter Reist and current president of the group, transformed Ferag AG into WRH Walter Reist Holding.

Today the group's worldwide distribution network, including its 23 branches, serves the American, European and Asian markets. The group has its own research and development centre, production units in Switzerland, the Netherlands and Germany, and a training and meeting centre. Headquarters are located in Hinwil, near Zürich, and employ 950 people. Worldwide WRH Walter Reist Holding employs 1600 employees and realises an annual turnover of € 250 million.
